Instructor: Mary Lynne Westervelt
Students may enroll in one or both Sessions 1 and 2 of this workshop.

Session 1: Working with Unusual Shapes: Students will learn how to bezel around and embellish a Maku Studios raku heart or bird to create a component which can be finished as you
choose for a truly one-of-kind piece of wearable art. Instructor will discuss how to deal with problems posed by unusual shapes as well as techniques that can be used by beginning students.

Session 2: Finishing Techniques: Students will learn how to finish a bead embroidered component professionally in a variety of ways. Topics will include reinforcing “floppy” beadwork, selecting findings, gluing, edging, fringing, embellishment, concealing flaws, and more. The emphasis here will be on finishing your piece so that it is “gallery worthy”.Project Information.
