Leslee Frumin 2015 May Retreat

                                                             May 15th, 16th, & 17th

Projects Selected by Retreat Participants

Earth Gem Bolo features a rough crystal. Students will learn to use a starter piece to begin twisted Ndebele. Entrap a rough crystal in tubular Ndebele. Students will do Ndebele increases.  Students should know basic tubular Ndebele

Kit: $75 includes rough crystal, size 11, 15 round and cylinder Japanese seed beads, accent beads for bolo ends, semi precious and or fresh water pearls, ultra-suede, double stick tape. Be aware that there is a wide variation in natural materials. Beads are used to compliment the rough crystal.  There will be 5-8 color choices for each kit. Students should expect to supply 6lb fireline for each project.

Treasure Chain features a bead woven chain and a Treasure charm inspired by watch fobs. This full day class will concentrate on the chain, connectors and treasure charm. The chain is a variation of both square and Ndebele stitches. The Treasure is worked with netting—what I call locked nets. Since both stitches are variations of stitches, I recommend being comfortable with working with seed beads—off loom. We will work the larger chain. The instructions for the petite chain are included in the instructions.

Kit: $60

Kit includes 2-20mm Swarovski flat backs; 2mm round Swarovski Crystals, 3mm round Swarovski crystals; Swarovski pearls; Japanese size 11 and 15 seed beads; ultra-suede, gem tac glue to be shared in class.  There will be 5-8 color choices for each kit. Students should expect to supply 6lb fireline for each project.

Optional--More Treasures Instruction and kits will be available for purchase. Kit is $50 and includes all three treasures.
