Students will learn this ancient Japanese technique.  Essentially, Kumihimo is braiding, and is often combined with beads to make beautiful jewelry.The term Kumihimo in the Japanese language means the gathering of threads. The literal translation of kumihimo means the ”coming together (kuin the mi) of threads (himo)”.  
Instructor:  Joan Braymen is a local artisan who enjoys the rhythmic movement of kumihimo.  She will teach you this
ancient technique.  Enjoy this zen like experience.  Joan will make you a Kumihimo expert in no time.

Kit Includes:  Thread pre-strung with beads ready to begin your Kumihimo project. Cones, waste wire & closure.

All Students will need these Supplies: 
  • glue, such as G-S Hypo Cement or One Stik adhesive
  • kumihimo disk
  • 8 bobbins or cardboard
  • chainnose pliers
  • roundnose pliers
  • wire cutters
Mail-in Registration Closes:  April 22, 2011.  Students May Register on line until April 29, 2011.
                                                                    Students may sign in day of class if seats are still available.
