Hope House Gifts & Bead Society Library Sale

Our Bead Society supports Hope House

We are asking our members to make and donate a piece of jewelry to Hope House at the No-
vember meeting. The jewelry pieces are then used as“gifts” people staying at the shelter can give.

Hope House is a domestic violence program with shelters in the Kansas City area,

Members are encouraged to check the Hope House website at any time. Click on

Our main contribution is to make pretty things for the women and their children,
which are used as incentives to complete tasks. Our creations are also used to make
holidays and birthdays a bit brighter.

Consider donating other items as well.  Hope House accepts donations of new items at the Lee's Summit and
Independ-ence locations Monday through Friday, 9am — 5pm (no appointment needed).

To get directions to the drop-off location nearest you, call 816-461-4188 and dial 0 for
the operator. Hope House does not post its street address or directions online due to safety concerns.

Bead Society Library Sale

Our library has been sitting in a closet and collecting dust for several years due to the difficulty in
transporting it and managing the borrow and return process. The Executive Board has
decided to bring the library into the light of day so the books can be used and enjoyed.

We will be selling/auctioning the entire collection at the November meeting to begin as soon after 5pm as we can get it
set up. Don’t be late!

In addition to a variety of books on beading, we have books about beads and
books on tapestry, cross-stitch, needle-point and polymer clay.

Any books not sold will be donated.
