Merriam-Webster dictionary defines drusy as “containing cavities lined with crystals”. We will use brick-stitch and netting to create our very own druzy inside a metal ring.  Make one for a pendant or two for dazzling earrings.
 
Instructor:  Kristen Winter
Kristen lives in St. Louis Missouri. She puts her love of beads to use in various weaving stitches and embroidery. An artsy crafter her whole life, her creative interests run the gamut from beads to paper to polymer clay to fabric. If it comes in bright shiny colors that catch her eye she wants to own and play with it all. She has a BFA in Fashion Design and has been beading for 20 years. She has taught in Colorado and Indiana and currently teaches at Lady Bug Beads. Kristen has been published in Somerset Studio and Stringing magazines. She has also appeared on HGTV’s That’s Clever.

Kit Includes:   If you like the idea of being inspired by real drusy quartz here are some suggestions Pacific Opal,
                      Indicolite, Fire Opal, Tanzanite, just to name a few.  I will bring extra metal rings and bails.  
  • 4 6mm Swarovski bicone crystals 
  • 4 6mm Swarovski round crystals
  • 4 4mm Swarovski bicone crystals
  • Size 11 Japanese seed beads in a color to match the crystals.
  • 1 in. Tierracast ring
  • 8 mm jumpring 
  • Tierracast bail                                                 
 
    Students may provide their own supplies.
 
Additional Supplies needed: Beading thread in size D, beading needles, bead mat, scissors.
                                              Personal task light, and magnification, if desired. 
                                            
 
Mail-in Registration Closes:  April 25, 2012.  Students May Register on line until May 5, 2012.
                                                                    Students may sign in day of class if seats are still available.
